WCAG 2 proposed changes (review by oct 14) on Tuesday agenda, Mike used up pretty much everything in our “Ready” column, so we’ve got two weeks to get another batch prepped.
- We aspire to have conversation in errata soon. There is an ISO version of WCAG 2.2 in the works, so it would be great to have current errata incorporated into that.
- Another milestone is that we are approaching 50:50 ratio of closed to to open issue.
- Per agenda email, our standing agenda.
Nine items under Sent for WG approval. Feedback so far caught a typo, which has since been corrected. Backlog TF work is on the AG WG agenda for Tuesday (7 Oct 2025).
Broken or outdated links in Understanding Success Criterion 2.4.4: Link Purpose (In Context) #2773 is an older issue, response only, warrants some new review, but already labeled as Ready for Review.
Note on internationalization needed for non-visible text? #4658 triggered conversation for prioritizing or balancing new versus backlog? There is some ongoing conversations about the intersection between internationalization and accessibility. Might be opportunity for conversation at TPAC for conversion. Moved to To Do.
Incorporate suggestions from restoration of Target Size (Enhanced) Understanding #4589 which we briefly looked at last week. Consensus on call to removing example. Moved to ready for approval.
Add notes to 2.4.3 understanding to try and address static content receiving focus and what does/doesn't constitute a focus order failure #1643 describes some situations where focus is put on something not normally in focus. Discussed briefly, but please take a look if you have any concern. Moved to Ready for Approval.
Update G206 #1024 Lori reviewed files change and conversation, and had a couple suggestions which were accepted on the call. We discussed awkward use of on a full-screen window but that's from the WCAG 2 glossary. Change to G206 line 5 might not quite be right. Stays in drafted.
Rephrase inline code elements #4623 Conforms use of PRE block and code inline. Discussion as to when attribute values include quotation marks. Reviewed on call and then Moved to Ready for Approval.
Techniques may fail both 1.4.1 Use of Color and 1.3.1 Info and Relationships to convey HTML element names and attributes #4193 is a request to provide better contrast. We disagree that current style is not conforming, nevertheless Patrick improved the presentation. Please take a look and comment, we'll pick up next time. Remains in Drafted (mostly for the reply back).
