Hi, I'm Thiago Valim 👋

**Founder & Principal Engineer of a full Brazilian ERP — in production for 15+ years, serving hundreds of active businesses.**
I design and build the whole thing: tax compliance & invoicing (NF-e/NFS-e), finance, accounting, inventory, CRM, POS — domain to deployment.

🧭 About me

I've been shipping the same product since 2009 — a complete ERP that real companies run their operations on every day. It started on .NET 2 + WinForms and I've carried it, without ever stopping the business, through three platform eras all the way to .NET 10, DDD/Clean Architecture, and Blazor.

I own the engineering end to end: architecture, domain modeling, fiscal/tax compliance, UI, database, DevOps, and support. Over the years I've built and led a team of developers, and I still run my company today — but the core product I keep authoring myself. Fifteen years of "it has to work in production tomorrow" taught me the things that don't fit in a tutorial — how to evolve a live system, when a rewrite is a trap, and how to keep an aging codebase honest while a modern one grows next to it.

  • 🏢 Founder & principal engineer at SoftConn Tecnologia e Sistemas — the Sis ERP
  • 🇧🇷 Deep in Brazilian fiscal/tax law: NF-e, NFS-e, SEFAZ, CST/CFOP/NCM, substituição tributária, boletos
  • 🧱 Migrating a 20-year monolith to Clean Architecture incrementally — legacy and modern coexisting by design, not by accident
  • 🤖 Building with AI as part of the stack (Claude Code: versioned skills, hooks, multi-agent workflows)

🛠️ Tech stack

Platform & language .NET 10 · C# · async/await · Central Package Management

Architecture Domain-Driven Design · Clean Architecture · CQRS (MediatR) · FluentValidation · Result/Error pattern · vertical slices · aggregate roots, domain events, specifications

Data EF Core (Code First) · SQL Server · MySQL · AWS RDS · PostgreSQL (migration target) · SQLite / IndexedDB (offline) · provider abstraction (UseSisProvider) · legacy interop over a 285-table schema

UI — one app, many heads Blazor (WASM/PWA · MAUI Hybrid · WPF host) · single Razor component library · MudBlazor · WPF/MVVM (CommunityToolkit.Mvvm, Syncfusion) · WinForms (legacy, being retired)

Fiscal & documents NF-e / NFS-e emission · ACBr · SEFAZ/prefeitura integration · thermal printing (ESC/POS) · PDF reports (QuestPDF)

Testing xUnit · Moq · bUnit (Razor components) · mapping regression tests

DevOps & cloud AWS (RDS · S3 · CloudFront · Route 53 · Lightsail) · Ubuntu Linux · CapRover · Docker · GitHub Actions CI/CD (build/test gate + automated image build → Docker Hub → CapRover deploy) · branch protection, rulesets & linear-history enforcement

📊 The product, in numbers

🗓️ 15+ yearsin continuous production since 2009
🏬 Hundredsof active client businesses
🧩 Full ERPfiscal · finance · accounting · cash flow · inventory · service orders · PCP · CRM · sales · purchasing · POS (retail & restaurant)
🏗️ 3 platform eras.NET 2 → .NET Framework 4.8 → .NET 10 — never taking the system offline
🏢 My own companySoftConn — built and led a dev team; I still author the core myself

💡 What I care about

  • Systems that survive. Code that will be maintained for a decade beats code that's clever today.
  • Migration without downtime. Incremental, feature-by-feature — the business never stops.
  • Domain first. Especially where the domain is the law (fiscal rules aren't a detail you abstract away).
  • Discipline in the small. Branch protection, real tests in the same commit, no fire-and-forget async, deployment as code.

🤝 Let's talk

I'm open to consulting, collaboration, and conversations about ERP architecture, .NET modernization, Brazilian fiscal integration, or building serious software solo.
