Allow the use of speedup when running headless similar to when using the GUI. The default behaviour in headless is still to run as fast as possible.

This PR adds support for the use of
speedupwhen running headless similar to when using the GUI. The default behaviour in headless is still to run as fast as possible. Addresses #89.
