maybe try to work on latest code. and add your changes there.
if you have the codeforcause/causefolio repo set as upstream, just do

git checkout upstream/development
git pull upstream development
git checkout  -b <any branch name>

do your changes there and make a seperate PR.
Your current branch is way behind the main branch. That's why there are lots of conflicts.
