[Win Error 2 ] File not found Error when running server.py on windows

When trying to run the server with --build tag

subprocess.run(["npm", "install"], cwd=MAGMA_PATH, check=True)
FileNotFoundError: [WinError 2] The system cannot find the file specified

Trying to install the frontend gui for caldera but it seems to not do so

I even made sure in checking the path for my Node.js in environment variables

Also using a python 3.11 virtual environment to run it

I believe your experiencing this issue due to trying to deploy CALDERA Server on a Windows Host. According to requirements from the official CALDERA documentation, the Server only supports deployment on MacOs or Linux systems. You can deploy CALDERA Agents onto Windows machines, but not the server itself.

An alternative would be to spin up the CALDERA Docker Image and have that run on your Windows Host.

This issue is resolved by adding shell=True to the end of the sections containing npm in the server.py file, adding npm as an operating system environment name, and adding the npm file path to the system environment path. #3194
