TomasVSantos/README.md

hey, i'm tomás 👋

software engineer from portugal 🇵🇹

i like building things, shipping them, then staring at the code three months later wondering who approved this architecture.

currently writing a suspicious amount of TypeScript, Go, and increasingly Rust.

const me = {
  work: ["frontend", "backend", "developer experience"],
  languages: ["TypeScript", "Go", "Rust", "Swift"],
  tools: ["React", "Angular", "GraphQL", "Docker"],
  interests: [
    "making software less annoying",
    "open source",
    "photography",
    "music",
    "side projects that seemed easier at 2am",
  ],
};

what i'm up to

  • 🦀 falling down the Rust rabbit hole
  • 🛠️ contributing to open source
  • 🍎 occasionally pretending I know Swift
  • ⚙️ learning more about distributed systems and backend architecture
  • 📸 taking photos when I'm not staring at a text editor
  • 🚢 strongly in favor of actually shipping the thing

things i believe in

boring code > clever code

tests are cheaper than incidents

the best architecture diagram is the one that still makes sense six months later

git push is a feature
