Improvements to contribute study of concore-editor #389
I have three suggestions to make to this contribute study feature:
Include the current workflow graphml in the contribution also
generate a PR review panel before the actual submission:
Expected behaviour: "Generate PR" button toggles a previewMode boolean state. In preview mode, all fields become read-only summary rows. "Confirm & Generate PR" fires the existing axios.post call, "Edit" returns to the editable form with all values intact.
Auto-fill the contribute form by default (not strictly)
The editor already stores authorName and projectName on every graph in initialGraphState. The Contribute form asks for exactly these two things but makes the user type them again from scratch. Similarly, uploadedDirName is already in superState
Hi @pradeeban@Rahuljagwani@mayureshkothare ,
These were some suggestions I could come up with after exploring the contribute study part in concore-editor. Would like to know your thoughts on this.
Also @pradeeban , I wanted to make one more suggestion, just like how there is concore build in the concore repo that generates basic skeleton structure for different nodes in different languagem , wouldn't it be great if we could do that using concore-editor?
Hi @pradeeban ,
Param here. I had my lab practicals and unit tests this week, and my final end-semester exams are coming up next week, so I’ll be taking a short 7–8 day break from coding.
I’ll still try to stay active in discussions on issues and PRs wherever I can. Planning to get back fully from 2nd May.
Don't know whether or not I will be selected as a GSoC candidate or not but, this has been a really meaningful experience for me. I’ve learned a lot, and more than that, I’ve genuinely enjoyed being part of this community. Your constant guidance, patience, and willingness to help even on the smallest things has made a big difference for me.
Really appreciate everything.
Thanks a lot!
Thanks @avinxshKD ! And I hope your exams went well, I assume we both had our exam schedules preponed or changed hectically at last moments due to elections in the country and other matters!
Also, this issue is open, if you have free time on your hands you can work on the remaining part.
@GREENRAT-K405 Thanks, appreciate it. I have practicals and end terms coming up soon, so bandwidth is tight right now. If I get a window, I’ll take this up.
I also have some plans for the project after exams.

@GREENRAT-K405 Thanks for all your contributions. We had a tougher situation with just 8 slots from Google (we had asked for 16) and couldn't get all the excellent candidates we had in our mind with the 4% acceptance rate (we received 185 proposals).
Please remember your contributions are valued and Google Summer of Code or not, you are already a recognized contributor for CONTROL-CORE.
@pradeeban thanks for all your mentorship!
If possible any kinds of reviews from your side will be helpful for me in future.
This was my first time trying open source GSoC and I am about to complete my second year in BTech, I will definitely try again for year 2027 and with a much early start. Your honest feedback will really help me in this journey.
@GREENRAT-K405 In your case, you were the top-ranked candidate for the other CONTROL-CORE idea. Just globally, you were not among the 8 (but you were among the 16). Globally, we followed a Rubrics.md. This may be different in other organizations.
A better strategy might be to apply for multiple organizations, I guess? Maybe 2 proposals to one org and another proposal to another org. With 4% acceptance rate, we are looking at a really difficult competition. GSoC is really getting a dangerously high competition, and with GenAI/LLM rise, it is just going to get tougher.

The selection process this year was clearly very competitive, and being that close itself says a lot. I wish we had 16 slots.

That's very insightful @pradeeban , I will still try to contribute whenever I can for Alaska. But will like to be active in the open source projects that you personally show strong interest in for the future in GSoC 2027 since I don't think I could have found a better mentor than you.
I take this as a solid experience for my first time open source journey!
