apply script changes to support license

@pranavvij You might consider simply adding the license section directly to build.gradle rather than to the applied file. It would be a cleaner patch.

I'm just now evaluating this library but I am a bit uncomfortable seeing how the Gradle file pulls from another users' repo like that in the first place. Unless there was some compelling reason I'm missing, I'd be in favor of incorporating the maven release functions entirely into this repo.
