Description

Sorting on this app sucks and would be improved by just adding a sort feature for things like new/old, box office, critical acclaim

Desired Behavior

Yeah title basiclaly says it all. Would just love to have a feature where I could sort by old to new would just make it way easier when looking at an actors filmography or even a rather basic movie name that's been used a lot.

You do realize that that only works when specifically looking at the movies/series tab and not when you're doing search. Now I can't speak for everyone but 90% of my seerr usage involves using search to look up a title.

TMDB's search API doesn't support sorting by release date, rating, or similar criteria:

Client-side sorting also isn't as straightforward as it sounds. TMDB only returns 20 results per page, so you'd either have to sort only the currently loaded results or fetch additional pages first. Both approaches can lead to results shifting around as more data is loaded, and can negatively impact search performance.

@fallenbagel That makes sense for a general search but it would still be nice to add sorting when looking at a persons work. I dont think loading in every piece of media an actor/person has been in would cause much slowdown?

That is not what this issue requests. There already is another feature request for that.
