Just running tests randomly in the AWS Console, it looks like this is slower than using Node.js directly with AWS's runtime. I'm not sure if this is a result of this package, or just how custom AWS Lambda runtimes work. I was seeing an increase of about 5-20ms or so on average. But again, super random tests, and not using an official testing system. Just clicking test and comparing the results in my head. So very inaccurate.
Would love some input on this, or further testing if someone wants to take it on.
