Opal Emu - a full-featured browser emulator built on EmulatorJS

Hi,

I've been building Opal Emu (opalemu.com) on top of EmulatorJS for the past few months and wanted to share it here since this community made it possible.

It's a zero-backend browser emulator - drop a ROM and it plays. No installs, no accounts, nothing uploaded anywhere.

What I've built on top of EmulatorJS:

• Drop any ROM and it identifies the console automatically - no picker
• Save states with export/import, rewind, fast-forward
• Display filters: sharp pixels, smooth, edge-aware upscaler, CRT shader with scanlines
• Full on-screen touch controls with analog stick for systems that have one
• Gamepad support - most pads work instantly, anything else can be remapped
• ZIP, 7z, CHD support - drop the archive straight in
• Offline via PWA - runs on a plane after first load
• Docker self-hosting with built-in ROM browser
• Load games by URL with ?rom= parameter
