			        <p>OpenBoxes is an open source supply chain management system that has been under development since 2010 and is designed to meet the needs of organizations delivering health care in resource-scarce settings, but has also been used for inventory management in the private sector. The OpenBoxes community is continually optimizing existing features and developing new features to innovatively meet users’ needs.</p>

			        <p>Currently, OpenBoxes can track the movement of goods through the supply chain, from purchase order to shipment, and from inventory to requisition and distribution. OpenBoxes can track medications, consumables, and equipment, and allows for inventory adjustments and movements of goods between and within facilities. Metadata about each product, including lot numbers, serial numbers, expiration dates, tags for cold chain and hazardous goods, package size, and manufacturer and vendor information, flow through the system with each product. Features also allow users to make substitutions, record demand versus order fulfillment, and run reports.</p>
