What issue are you seeing?
At some point after 0.130+ versions the following problem started appearing:
When launching Codex through Codex Launcher plugin https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/28264-codex-launcher which simply runs codex in the built-in Rider (or other IntelliJ platform IDEs) terminal the whole IDE hangs if there are Codex updates available. When I run Codex through i.e. ghostty and accept the update it continues to run normally within Rider. Since the updates happen almost every day it forces me to kill the IDE through activity monitor very often. This problem didn't appear before and I was able to update Codex directly from Rider terminal and proceed working.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
- Install Rider 2025.3.3 on MacOS
- Install Codex Launcher plugin
- Click the Launch Codex button which the plugin adds to the UI
- If there are any updates to codex available, the whole IDE will hang
