I would like to share my configuration, which combines statusline and tabline together.

Thanks for sharing! I've moved this to a "Show and tell" category.

It is an interesting idea indeed, that mostly works. Although it will have issues with properly truncating tabline content (since it assumes to occupy the whole width of the Neovim instance).
