I know you can go into the settings to set up a filter. But for non-technical people, they find it hard.

Describe the solution you'd like

Most clients have the option to set up filters via the message menu. Below is an example, but they call filters rules.

Would be great to see this added.

We use emclient with a lot of our volunteers as they struggle to remember and set up via settings.

That is, but I do not have that feature. Is there a setting that needs to be done for that to appear?

For us, for some reason, the only way is;

We are on version 5.7.12 of the mail app.

When you open a message, on the right there's another menu.

It's not I have screen shoted both. As you can see on the second menu, all I have is this:

You can tell I am on the second menu by the arrow pointing left to return to the 1st menu.

And from the looks of yours I am missing 5 options. Hence why I said, am I missing something, do I need to turn on an option or download another app as we do not have half the options you have.

So, is there an issue with the Mail App or is it due to the fact that our Nextcloud is run on a Cloudron server? Do we need to let Cloudron know that their Docker image is causing issues with options within the Mail App?

So I created a Nextcloud server on a standalone server AIO setup and downloaded the mail app. That option is not even on that server, and that is a freshly installed server with no changes, but the mail app has been added.

I really don't get why you have this feature, but I do not and on two different setups of Nextcloud.

We have a three column layout:

1. Your account and mailboxes
2. The list of threads/messages for the current mailbox
3. The third column shows the threads/messages.

Click on a message to open it (=> render it in column 3).
In this view there's also a more / ... menu (for each message)
There you find it on page 2 / second menu.

The current way how we have organized our menus is in some places really not ideal. It has a bit of a concept, but it's not complete. In column 2 it shows the list of threads. So the operations in the menu should apply to all messages in a thread. If an action is only available for one message, then it goes to the menu for the message only in column 3.

Oh found it. Not the easiest to find. Wonder if it would not be best to have a second way to access like where I was expecting it to be.

The distinction between what is a thread action and what is a message action is not very clear, We should show more useful actions in both places. And either way such a useful feature is buried wayyy down in the UI! We can bring it to the first level of the 3 dot menu of a message at least (and move snooze to the second-level as it duplicated) and if possible bring it to the 3 dot menu of the thread :)
