When you "rename" a session in Claude Code it shows it all the time so it's obvious what session you're. Copilot CLI should do the same.

Strongly +1 — and here's a concrete scenario that makes this more than a nicety: split panes / side-by-side terminals.

Today the session name from /rename is only surfaced via the terminal window title (OSC title sequence). That works fine with one window = one session. But the moment you run two or more Copilot CLI sessions side-by-side in split panes (e.g. Ghostty, tmux, iTerm panes), the window title can only reflect one pane, so there is no way to tell which pane is which session.

For comparison, Claude Code renders the renamed session name inside its own TUI (bottom-right, just above the prompt), so each pane self-identifies regardless of the window title:

• Left pane shows Project #1 in its footer
• Right pane shows Project #2 in its footer

Copilot CLI confirms the rename ("Session renamed to: Project #2") but then shows nothing persistent, so once that line scrolls away the pane is anonymous.

Request: persist the session name somewhere in the Copilot CLI chrome itself (the footer/status line near Session: N AIC used would be ideal), exactly as proposed in this issue. This makes parallel multi-pane workflows actually trackable.

(Repro: /rename Project #1 in one pane, /rename Project #2 in an adjacent split pane — the names are indistinguishable from within the CLI.)
