I would suggest to add a nice Pad icon with an error (for external) instead of the text PAD LINK
and additionally I would add the Link as a Menu item to the Menu Toolbar. Having a way to externally link to the same Pad is great to have for Pads which are inside other pages of applications - downside might be that the actual etherpad-page URL gets exposed - therefore an option having that link opening in a fullscreen modal window might be the better option in general. It would give writers also much more space (really 100% Full screen).
