Inconsistent hostnames reported between snapshots

I'm noticing vykar records a different homename for my snapshots depending on which VPN I'm currently connected to:

Not sure how the hostname is being detected as I've not checked the code yet, but:

MiniBeard.fritz.box
❯ hostname -s
MiniBeard

Is it possible to configure/override how Vykar records the host for a snapshot?

You can set the hostname when running it in Docker. But that's a Docker feature.

Could be added to the config file.

Let me also check if we could use the short hostname.

Fixed in 8d89d03.

• Backup now defaults to the short hostname (everything before the first .), which is stable across network changes on macOS and matches Linux and Windows.
• An explicit hostname: option in the config file allows overriding the recorded hostname.
• Existing platform::hostname() is unchanged — lock files and session markers still use the raw system hostname.
