- OS: Windows 10 or later
- RAM: 4 GB minimum
- Disk: ~100 MB free space
- Internet: Required for translation
- Visit inputtranslator.com and click Download
- Run the installer (
InputTranslator-Setup.exe) - If Windows SmartScreen shows a warning, click More info → Run anyway (the app is safe, we just haven't purchased a code signing certificate yet)
- Follow the installation wizard
- After installation, InputTranslator starts automatically and runs in the background (check the system tray icon)
- Open any application with a text input field (e.g., WhatsApp, Chrome, Discord)
- Type your message in your native language
- Press
Alt + X— your text is instantly translated and replaced in the input field - Send your message as usual
- Open InputTranslator from the system tray
- On the Home screen, click Customize → next to the hotkey display
- Set your preferred key combination
- Open InputTranslator
- On the Home screen, use the Target Language dropdown to select your desired output language
InputTranslator offers context-aware translation modes:

- Make sure InputTranslator is running (check system tray)
- Click on the input field to make sure it's focused
- Try the hotkey again
- If the issue persists, restart InputTranslator
If Alt + X conflicts with another application, change the hotkey in Settings.
