Provider 'Microsoft.Data.SqlClient' is not registered

Really looking forward to migrating our Polyglot runbooks to a supported Extension like Verso.

I am struggling to get a basic SQL Server connection working though. Using the sample notebook that uses SqlLite it works as expected. Trying to do the same and it looks like it is failing to register the provider. Could well be a configuration thing on my end, but I find it odd the SqlLite works.

I verified that the SqlClient.dll appears in the verso package folder, checking the .deps file I can confirm all but the System DLLs and versions are also present.

Possibly I missed a requirement for a specific framework version?

Full command is

Thanks for using Verso. A regression may have been introduced after recent NuGet resolver changes. I've added this to the top of my list for investigating and fixing up.

Yesterday version 1.0.19 was released and may have addressed the issue you experienced. Once you've updated and gave your notebooks another go, let me know if that solved the issue. Thanks!

Actually it worked when I did the initial upgrade for Verso, and now have the time to come back to it.....broken again....similar but not quite, since it looks like the !sql-connect directive is doing more than it was with the previous error

Interestingly playing with it more. I cleared out C:\Users{me}\AppData\Local\Temp\verso-nuget-packages which had 2 sub folders: net10.0 and net10.0-v2. Restart VS Code....and voila....working again. Not sure if there is some cache maintenance on your side of the house or mine that would help?

The fix for the issue related to the packages, extraction, and their resolution. At the time I did have to clear my own cache for it to update against what was previously being used. If the issue pops up again let me know and I will investigate deeper. I'll also take that cache maintain mention into consideration for an upcoming improvement because as of right now it's a manual process.
