Status after the restructure in #25:

• create paleo-geography openIFS. Most of it exists in paleo.rst: the ocp-tool pipeline, land-sea mask, orography, ice sheets, soils, lakes and vegetation, at two levels of effort. Cavities and the dynamic vegetation adaptations, both named in this item, are not covered.
• modify vegetation (fixed). Covered inside the paleo pipeline, biome to vegetation type, cover and LAI, but not as a recipe of its own.
• use dynamic vegetation (LPJ-GUESS). The LPJ-GUESS page only covers branching off a restart.
• use custom time series of greenhouse gases. Selecting an SSP or RCP is documented, supplying your own series is not.
• use custom time series of orbital forcing. The three ORBMODE modes are documented, and Say what ORBMVELP is measured from #29 adds what ORBMVELP is measured from. Accelerated orbit runs are not covered.
• how to modify an ocean restart.
• modify variables / frequencies of model output. Now on the XIOS page: the XML is rendered from Jinja templates rather than copied, where those templates live, and the cmip7_cmor_output switches that select a different set.
• how to tune the model for new resolutions and newly included components. paleo.rst Level 1 covers the mechanics of moving a setup to a new resolution, including what esm-tools needs and what the tool does not do. Tuning itself is not covered.
• extend online diagnostics. This is a model feature request rather than documentation, so it probably belongs in project_management instead.

Two more things worth noting. The carbon cycle and ice sheet variants are deliberately undocumented until v3.5.0, since they exist only on develop and anything written now would describe a moving interface. And the cavity gap in the first item matters more than it did in 2022, because -is brings a moving cavity.
